からといって

Explanation
からといって is used to say that even if one fact or situation is true, it does not automatically justify or lead to the conclusion that follows.
It is often used to:
Reject oversimplified reasoning
Correct wrong assumptions
Say “you can’t conclude X just because Y”
The speaker acknowledges the first clause as true, but denies that it is a sufficient reason for the second clause.
This grammar is used in both spoken and written Japanese, and appears frequently in JLPT N1 reading and grammar questions.
Usage Notes
✔ Used to deny a logical jump
✔ Often followed by negative, cautionary, or corrective statements
✔ Common in arguments, explanations, advice
❌ Not used when the cause–effect relationship is valid
❌ Not a simple replacement for から / ので
