Tomodai (友達) means 'friend' in Japanese. Our journey began with a simple idea: what if learning Japanese felt less like a chore and more like making a new friend? We were tired of sterile textbooks and repetitive apps that lacked a human touch.
We set out to build a platform that combines structured, expert-led pedagogy with the power of conversational AI. The result is an immersive experience where you can learn the fundamentals, then practice what you've learned by actually talking with Sensei, our AI language partner.
